In the past two terms of council we have never submitted our required FIR submissions on time to the province. This causes grant ineligibility and grant holdbacks. This costs us money. thus We have been using budgets to produce the next years budgets and thats one reason why DD had a capitol surplus in 2024. They just discovered this in July 2026 because the financial statements werent done. A capitol surplus from taxpayers in a year where they charged us 7.6% tax increase.? We have to be more responsible with taxpayers money.
